Truck Driving in Phoenix
Phoenix is a fast-growing Sunbelt freight hub with heavy Mexico cross-border, Amazon, and TSMC construction volume. I-10 and I-17 anchor the metro; heat operations are a real risk May–Sept.
Loop 202 and Loop 101
Both are truck-legal and often faster than I-10/I-17 through central Phoenix. Loop 303 provides an outer western bypass for I-10 to I-17 movements.
Cross-Border
Nogales POE (I-19 south) is the primary Sonora/Sinaloa produce gateway. FAST enrollment saves hours. Peak produce season: late fall/winter.
Heat Ops
Ground temps exceed 150°F on pavement Jun–Sept. Tire and hazmat placard degradation is real. Idle-limit exemptions may apply for driver safety.
Parking
Buckeye, Casa Grande, Eloy, Tonopah, Wickenburg. Metro parking is limited but growing.
