Truck Driving in Houston

Port Houston terminals require TWIC + Port RFID. Barbours Cut and Bayport are the container terminals; both require appointments via TidePoint.

Hazmat Routes

Houston has designated hazmat routes; central downtown tunnels (Baytown Tunnel is one-way for hazmat) have restrictions. Verify with City of Houston hazmat routing map.

Beltway 8 and Grand Parkway

Both are toll roads. Beltway 8 EZTag is fully electronic. Grand Parkway (SH-99) is the outer bypass — often faster than 610.

Parking

Baytown, La Porte, Channelview, Katy, Conroe. Ship Channel parking is scarce; use La Porte or Baytown for staging.
